Our Wedding Photography Service

Most people know about wedding photography, but don’t know there’s a method to the madness.

A wedding photographer typically starts with bride and groom preparation, then follows the main wedding events from start to finish – usually from the wedding ceremony to the photo session, then to cocktails, dinner, and toasts, and finally the first dance, cake, bouquet toss, and farewell.

Your wedding is one of the best and busiest days of your life. They’re famously a blur for the newlyweds, and wedding photographs are crucial to capture all the memories.

Wedding Photography Styles

Considering each wedding is a unique event that tells one couple’s love story, it’s no surprise that there are so many styles of wedding photography to meet each individual couple’s needs.

We offer all styles of wedding photography, so just ask and we will answer. However, with so many styles, we understand if you don’t know where to start with your decision.

That’s why we compiled some of the most popular wedding photography styles here. Some of them have stood the test of time, and some of them are making a name for themselves in their own right.

Wedding photography styles aren’t one-size-fits-all, but there is something for everyone. Learn more about the ins and outs of every style, and see which one piques your interest for your big day as a bride or groom.

Traditional / Classic

There’s nothing like the traditional style, sometimes known as classic style. This style of two names is a tale as old as time for a reason; they are timeless shots that never go out of style. They rely on tried and true photography methods to capture memories, as opposed to the newest trends that focus on catching your eye.

These photographs are straightforward, usually posed and shot at eye-level. Think of a family portrait or a big group shot from some of your gatherings.

Sometimes you just want to snapshot a moment in time without too much flair for dramatics. If that’s the case, then traditional or classic photography is just right for you.

Artistic / Fine Art

Fine art is a step away from the traditional style, but doesn’t stray too far from the photography tricks that have served well for decades. They generally imitate film with bright lights and softer images. Many people see artistic or fine art style photos as dreamy and romantic.

If you’re planning a floral, natural outdoor wedding, or even an indoor wedding with bright colors, this style might be right for you. The bright lights and hues shine under this style.

Wedding Couple

Photojournalistic

Photojournalistic photography is just what it sounds like. Instead of posed shots, your photographer will opt to snap candid moments to tell the story of your big day in all its authentic glory. Photojournalistic photography focuses on those moments that may seem small but make your wedding its own story.

The style also uses less technical methods during shooting, and the editing tends to be more natural as well. The intention is to tell the true story of your wedding through the photos, rather than shape a visual narrative that isn’t already obvious.

Lifestyle

Lifestyle photography is a blend between extremely posed, classic-style photography and the candid style of photojournalistic photography. The photographer will catch all the candid moments, but they will also offer some direction and styling, like where to look or mild posing.

Dark and Moody

Dark and moody might not be the first two words that come to mind when you think about your wedding day. However, this style is incredibly popular because of its highly stylized look.

The photos are taken in darker lighting and have a dramatic flair. They are also altered in editing, and the end product is always creative and striking.

Many magazines feature this trendy style, and a collection of dark and moody photos has a very unique look that many people appreciate.

Editorial

Another popular style of wedding photography is editorial-style. While dark and moody photos are often featured in magazines right now, editorial-style is like a classic magazine shoot.

It’s considered the most technical of wedding photo styles with highly posed shots. The shots are creative, but can still be bright and colorful.

Some believe editorial wedding photography is like a true magazine or modeling shoot, and feels luxurious.
